Our Recycling Process
Operating in an environmentally responsible manner is an imperative. We strive to do our best to reduce the amount of waste that might otherwise have gone to landfill. At our depot we have a dedicated team who hand sort and separate the rubbish and junk we collect into various waste streams for recycling including:
- Paper and cardboard
- Wood
- Hardfill (concrete, bricks, tiles)
- Metal
- E-waste (electronics)
- Polystyrene
Donating Items to Those in Need
We also sort and store items that we collect that are able to be reused e.g. furniture, beds, appliances, stationery, books, clothing, toys, sporting goods etc. We then work with our charity partners to donate these items, at no cost, to those in need.

Growing this circular economy — keeping items in use and valuable resources out of landfill, is a key part of our sustainability strategy. The circular economy refers to a system where resources are kept in use for as long as possible, extracting maximum value before being recycled or regenerated into new products at the end of their lifecycle. We call our role in this "Junk2Go Turning Junk2Good".
